The tobacco used in the Swedish snus is air-dried while the tobacco used in American snuff is fire-cured.Tobacco-specific nitrosamines, TSNA are a group of carcinogenic substances contained in tobacco products. The quantities of tobacco-specific nitrosamines, TSNA present in tobacco depends on the drying process and storage. The american moist snuff is fermented so, there is a lot of germs. TSNA levels in this snuff is very high compared to Swedish snus. Swedish snus has a TSNA level of 1-5 ppm, while the American moist snuff has TSNA levels of 200 ppm. Another difference between them is where you put your snus. The swedish snus is put under your upper lip while the american moist snuff is put under your lower lip. You also have so spit when using the american moist snuff. That is due to the poisonous substances found in snuff juice should not be swallowed. With Sweish snus you don't have to spit because it is that much cleaner.As you can see there is quite a big difference and Swedish snus is much better for your health.
